Currently, Ronetta Wards serves as Regional Vice President for Atlantic Research Partners,LLC. In her role she manages assigned territories and provides school districts with extensive training and support using the Power of Teaching to help districts’ improve teaching quality.  The Power of Teaching is a research-based approach to identify effective and ineffective teaching behaviors.  Power of Teaching gives administrators, teachers and instructional coaches the ability to increase student achievement by developing sound practice, measuring teaching behaviors and providing unparalleled support of their teaching staff.

Ronetta Wards is also an educator with significant expertise in the field of Instructional Technology.  Ms. Wards served as Executive Director of Instructional Technology for Mansfield City Schools in Mansfield, Ohio and as Instructional Technology Coordinator for Duval County Public Schools in Jacksonville, Florida.  In Ohio, Ms. Wards led the work of rebuilding Mansfield City Schools’ network infrastructure, a from-the-ground-up process that ultimately enabled integration of technology systems throughout the District’s multiple departments.  Ms. Wards additionally directed district-wide professional development focused on sustainably improving student-learning outcomes.

Ms. Wards served as high school science teacher, science teacher leader, school technology “in-house” expert/mentor, and professional development facilitator.   Ms. Wards began her teaching career at Jean Ribault Senior High School in Northwest Jacksonville, Florida.  As a Jacksonville native and graduate of William M. Raines Sr. High, Jacksonville’s only historically African-American high school, Ms. Wards was committed to teaching in the same neighborhood in which she and her family resided throughout her childhood years.  While teaching at Jean Ribault Senior High, she served in a voluntary role to coach young women, and to serve young men and women seeking to participate in state-wide “Brain Brawl” competitions.

In addition to her teaching and volunteer duties with students, Ms. Wards was honored for her focused contributions as a member of the Mentor Teachers Professional Learning Community (PLC), a collaborative partnership between the University of Florida and Jean Ribault Senior High School.  At Ribault High she served as school liaison and one of five school-based mentors, meeting weekly with novice teachers and facilitating bi-monthly PLC sessions. Through her collaborative work for University of Florida, Ms. Wards also developed and facilitated professional development sessions for novice teachers in the Orlando and Miami, Florida metropolitan areas.

As a result of her work within the Mentor Teachers Professional Learning Community (PLC), Ms. Wards was asked to co-present her research at multiple state, regional, and national conferences.

Ms. Wards holds a masters degree in Educational Administration from Ashland University; a masters degree in Secondary Education from the University of North Florida; and a bachelors degree in Biology from Florida A & M University.
