"Breakfast With A Purpose"

About Us

History:

Several years ago, Mr. Zoraba Ross began having monthly breakfast meetings with several of his principal friends. He felt it was important to begin a networking group for African-American School Administrators whereby they could share information, resources, support, etc. In 2008, OAESA (Ohio Association of Elementary School Administrators) wrote an article on the group, now known as “Breakfast With A Purpose,” LLC in their March Principal Navigator publication.  Download and read the article: OAESA MARCH 2008 2.pdf

Mission:

The mission of “Breakfast With A Purpose,” is to promote and empower African-American school administrators by providing advocacy, support, professional growth, motivation and networking throughout the country.

I found the participating administrators to be very interested in learning and sharing ideas about how we interact with our students. Everyone was excited and exuded a spirit of excellence. I look forward to attending additional meetings and building strong partnerships with everyone involved.

  7. I came to know the group through a co-worker several months ago. Ronetta was so excited about the group I decided to come. It took me 5 months but I’m glad I finally made it. The potential for aquiring knowlwdge, friendships and a place to feel at home is great. I plan to visit frequently and I will share this group with the Akron and Philadelphia area.

  11. I first joined BWAP in 2009. After I attended and found out that there are others out there who deal with similar issues and concerns as it relates to school improvement and leading great professional development. This is a great way to become inspired and motivated to keep doing the business of leading change in our daily context. This is the best organization that I have ever been a part.

  15. The BWAP group allows for an opportunity for educators to collaborate and discuss issues/concerns pertinent to current times as well as learn new trends in schools. When I attended my first meeting, I felt at ease knowing there were other administrators looking to improve upon what was already good.
